Medium-bodied wines with more structure and a mouth-feel similar to whole milk
The beautiful Estate, El Bosque, has given birth to one of Heredia’s best known wines. A more serious version of the typical table Rioja you find in many tapas places, this wine is elegant, full bodied, and has a lot of structure. Pair it with paella, grilled beef, and your favorite Pedro Almodóvar movie.
About The Varietal
Tempranillo serves as the backbone for some of the finest Spanish wines, and it is a red grape variety cultivated extensively in both Spain and Portugal. In general, Tempranillo yields red wines characterized by red fruit and leather aromas, high tannins, moderate to low acidity, and moderate alcohol levels.
Enjoy with braised or game meats or herb heavy eggplant.
About The Producer
Despite the ongoing winemaking changes in Rioja, a few bodegas, like López de Heredia, remain devoted to its traditional methods. For over 130 years, López de Heredia has preserved its historic cellars and family ownership, unlike many competitors now owned by outsiders. Unlike most Rioja wineries, López de Heredia owns its vineyards, ensuring control over every aspect of production. Now led by the youngest generation—Maria José, Mercedes, and Julio César—the bodega maintains its unwavering commitment to tradition, just like its predecessors.
