2014 Larmandier-Bernier "Vieilles Vignes du Levant" Grand Cru Extra Brut (Champagne, FR)

2014 Larmandier-Bernier "Vieilles Vignes du Levant" Grand Cru Extra Brut (Champagne, FR)

The old vines of Levant are exposed to the South-East and benefit from an exceptional terroir. They are aged between 60 and over 85 years . The deep roots and diversity of the old vines contribute to the complexity of the wine. They are, like the entire vineyard, cultivated naturally to achieve perfect maturity.

Since the creation of this vintage in 1988, it has been necessary to explain the difference between "Cramant" and "Crémant". To avoid this confusion, the name has changed: " Vieille Vigne de Cramant " becomes Vieille Vigne du Levant " !

Indeed, the place name for this vintage is "Bourron du Levant". Levant meaning East, the plot benefits from the first rays of the sun in the morning. In Cramant, the Levant is very different from the vines located on the other side of the hill, facing West. The east-facing side in Cramant produces particularly rich and powerful grapes; it is truly a magical place .

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.
